Breckenridge has partnered with Friends of the Dillon Ranger District, a local nonprofit, to offer a free Ski with a Ranger program.
The free on-mountain naturalist tours usually start in late December and run through the end of March, but check dates and times.
The Ski with a Ranger program provides free guided interpretive tours to highlight the resources of the National Forest and showcase the resort’s environmental commitments.
- Every Friday
- 11AM - Noon
- Meet at the top of the Independence Chair on Peak 7
- Must have a valid lift ticket or season pass
- Must be an intermediate skier or snowboarder and a desire to learn
- Registration is not required
Volunteer naturalist guides and Ski Rangers lead a free one-hour tour on intermediate runs - and some beginner trails - and discuss topics from local flora and fauna to geography and history.
