Breakdown by Progression
Breck offers a variety of terrain for all levels and it's important to know where to go to best suit your skiing and riding ability. Lessons are a great way to improve your skills as well as familiarize yourself with a resort even if you are a seasoned skier and rider. Regardless, we always recommend starting small and working your way up to more advanced terrain. A green circle, blue square or black diamond at Breck is not necessarily the same as at another ski area. Trail ratings are relative to the resort and not a comparison to difficulty between resorts. Check out the information below to learn about the variety of terrain offered at Breck and how to progress across the mountain.
Designated Learning Areas
Learning terrain is available at the base of Peak 8 and Peak 9.
If it’s your first time on skis or a snowboard, or you haven’t been on the slopes in a while, pick one of these two areas as your home base.
> Quicksilver Learning Area carpets (Peak 9) <
> Rip’s Ride Learning Area carpets (Peak 8) <
