Getting Here & Parking

Ditch the Car

With a variety of in town parking lots, a pedestrian-friendly downtown and a free in-town transportation options, there truly is no need for a car when you visit Breck. Shuttles like the Epic Mountain Express can take you from the airport directly to the door of wherever you’re staying in town. Many places are located within easy walking distance of the ski area and Main Street, but if you’re a little further away or just want to give your legs a rest, the Breck FreeRide (note the FREE part!) bus system is a great and convenient way to get around during your stay. In addition, with the BreckConnect Gondola and ski-to-town trails (or bike-to-town trails in summer!), the connection between mountain and town is seamless, providing additional and convenient ways to go between the ski area and downtown. If you are driving to visit us though, we recommend checking GoI70.com for the latest driving tips, road conditions and carpool options, and we recommend leaving your car in one place once you're here and utilizing our free in-town transportation options to get around. This small effort can really make a big difference when it comes to traffic and congestion on town roads and the environment.

Daily Resort Guest Parking

Breckenridge Ski Resort owned parking lots are managed daily by Breck Park. With Breck Park as our strategic partner, we have the ability to offer all of our paid parking guests the option to easily pay via the Breck Park app and reserve preferred parking in any of our paid lots.

Guest parking is available slope-side, in town and outside of town. We encourage carpooling with incentives at all paid lots.

Oversized vehicle and overnight parking is not permitted in Breckenridge Ski Resort lots. Permits can be obtained from the Town of Breckenridge.

Downtown or Slopeside Parking

Parking for Peaks 7 & 8

Both Peaks are accessible via the BreckConnect Gondola from town.

  • Peak 7: Take the Gondola to access Independence SuperChair
  • Peak 8 Take the Gondola to access Rip's Ride, 5-Chair, Colorado SuperChair, and the Rocky Mountain SuperChair 
  • Ticket Offices are located at the locations below for your convenience

 

Downtown Parking with Access to peaks 7 & 8

South Gondola Parking Structure, North Gondola Lot & Gold Rush Lot - Our most convenient and accessible in town parking

These lots are located in Town and offer easy access to Peaks 7 and 8 via the BreckConnect Gondola, and to Peak 9 via the Gold Route (formerly the Black Route) and Yellow Route. You can park here and pay using our many onsite kiosks or the Breck Park app. You can also reserve your spot ahead of time. Daily rates apply and are subject to change. Hourly rates available after 2 PM. No parking is permitted between the hours of 2 - 6 AM in our South Gondola, North Gondola, and Gold Rush lots.

Peak 7 & 8 Slope-side Parking

Stables Lot - Parking in walking distance to Peaks 7 and 8

Convenient covered parking within a 7 minute walking distance of both Peaks 7 and 8. You can park here and pay using our many onsite kiosks or the Breck Park app. Stables Lot parking is limited and you can reserve your spot ahead of time. Daily rates apply and are subject to change.

Slopeside Parking

Parking for Peak 9

  • Slopeside parking with access to peak 9 via the Beaver Run SuperChair & Quicksilver SuperChair
  • 3 - 7 minute walk from your vehicle
  • Ticket Office located at the lot for your convenience
Beaver Run Lot - Slope-side parking at Peak 9

Easy access to Peak 9 and the Quicksilver SuperChair and learning terrain, and the Beaver Run SuperChair. You can park here and pay using either an onsite kiosk or the Breck Park app. Parking here is limited and you can reserve your spot ahead of time. Daily rates apply and are subject to change. Hourly rates are available after 2 PM. No parking is permitted between the hours of 2 - 6 AM.

Airport Rd Parking Lot (Free Parking)

Breckenridge Ski Resort is proud to offer free convenient parking just outside the center of Town! Free bus transportation from the lot to the BreckConnect Gondola offers quick access to Peaks 7 and 8, as well as an easy transfer to the Gold Route (formerly the Black Route) and Yellow Route for access to Peak 9.

Breck is easily accessible by car and just minutes from Interstate 70.

Driving Directions from Denver

Breckenridge is located 104 miles west of Denver International Airport (DEN) and 86 miles from downtown Denver. Travel west on I-70 from either location and take exit 203 in Frisco, CO for CO-9. CO-9 South will take you directly into Breckenridge.

From Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE)

Breckenridge is approximately 63 miles (102km) east of Eagle Airport. EGE offers non-stop flights from Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, New York/JFK, Phoenix, Toronto and Washington D.C. flyvail.com

Tips for I-70 Mountain Travel

  • Avoid peak travel times if possible. If you are heading eastbound on Saturday or Sunday, plan to leave the mountains after 7 p.m. to stay out of traffic. To be safe, check the weekend and holiday Travel Forecast.

Winter Weekend Traffic Patterns

Westbound

  • Friday: Traffic volumes are moderate from approximately 3:00-7:00 p.m. 
  • Saturday: To beat the traffic, plan to leave the Front Range by 6:00 a.m. Traffic is consistently at its highest between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., and speeds return to normal soon after Noon. 
  • Sunday: Traffic is lighter than Saturday but delays are possible in the 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. timeframe.

Eastbound

  • Saturday: Traffic volume is moderate to heavy between 2:00-5:00 p.m. 
  • Sunday: Traffic starts to build as early as 11:30 a.m. The peak of the traffic occurs between 3:00-6:00 and drops off soon after 8:00 pm. To avoid the jam, stay at the Resort for dinner, or spend Sunday night and head back to work or school Monday morning.

The Mountain Express Lanes are open on the weekends and holidays to provide a faster and more reliable travel time between Denver and the mountains. Get the Express Toll pass to pay the posted toll rate. Those without a pass will be billed the posted rate plus a service charge. Order the pass at ExpressToll.com. 

Holiday Weekends: When a national holiday falls on a Monday, you can count on Monday afternoon eastbound traffic to mimic a typical Sunday pattern, but with potentially more volume.

Metering: Traffic metering goes into effect during very high-volume times at the Eisenhower Johnson Tunnel on the eastbound approach.  Metering controls the flow of traffic eastbound towards the Eisenhower Tunnel so traffic does not back up in the tunnel, causing potential safety issues.
